A: Since The Broker (821 17th Street) has been serving Denver for nearly thirty years, the restaurant’s seen it all, including hippies out to get a good meal. The prices are pretty decent by today’s standards, and the iced bowl of all-you-can-eat, peel-it-yourself shrimp adds to the value. This is basic fine dining, with respectable steaks and salads and no icky sauces (although the Broker actually cooks up a few very good classic ones). Plus, your gal gets to go overboard with the attire. Ask to be seated in the old bank vault.
