$20,000

More than a dozen chefs from some of the area’s favorite restaurants (The Fort, Root Down and ChoLon, just to name a few) will face off tonight at Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum, 7711 East Academy Boulevard, at the Chefs Food & Wine Pairing Competition. The chefs were assigned two gold-medal wines (one white, one red) last week and given a sample bottle of each so that they could develop their custom dishes to pair with the wines.

The event also includes fresh sushi and sake, a champagne tower, an auction and much more. The VIP reception is at 4:30 p.m., and the pairing competition opens to the general public at 6 p.m.; tickets are $100 to $175. Visit www.denverwinefest.com/order.html.
