Jimano’s Pizzeria, a pie palace headquartered in Gurnee, Illinois, is blowing into Denver — and bringing Chicago-style deep dish pizza with it. When Jimano’s opens later this spring at 2950 South Broadway, it’ll be the fourteenth outpost for former finance manager-turned-pizza-baker Jimmy OBerto, who operates additional stores throughout Illinois, Wisconsin and Texas.
The menu, a catchall of thin-crusted, deep dish, double dough and stuffed pizzas, pastas, sandwiches, salads, lots of fried stuff and St. Louis-style baby back ribs (weird, but whatever), is only limited by the absence of a liquor license. But a hearing, scheduled for Wednesday, April 7 with the Englewood Liquor Licensing Authority, could mean that you can soon enjoy your fried ravioli, half slab of ribs, meatball sub and “Beast” pizza with an ice cold beer.
