Karston Crumpler wants everyone in Denver to get a fix of his banana pudding.
A year ago, he started his business, the Yellow Fix, as a pop-up series that included collaborations with many popular local businesses such as Blue Pan Pizza, Coffee Sarap, Bits & Pieces Con Cerveza, and Die Die Must Try Beverage Co. In late 2025, the business settled into a new home, inside Stir-Pan Creamery at 1221 South Pearl Street, where fans can now find a fix anytime.
Crumpler’s passion for banana pudding started early in life. “We would go to Golden Corral, and they’d have it,” he recalls of his upbringing in North Carolina. “Every now and then, my mom would make it.” Then, “when I finally got to college, my mom taught me how to make it. I hadn’t had it for two years. … I made it for a couple occasions in college like Friendsgiving, and got the impression people really liked it.”
When he moved to Denver for an internship in 2024, his banana pudding habit came along, too. “I worked at Omni Interlocken Hotel and made it,” Crumpler recalls, “and they asked if they could buy it, which planted a seed that it could be done as a business.” So he started giving out samples to gauge people’s interest in his beloved dessert.

Crumpler’s approach was simple: walk up to a business and ask if they wanted to try some samples. “One of the most rewarding things was giving it away for free,” Crumpler says, reflecting on the dopamine spike that came with seeing someone enjoy his banana pudding. The experience was enough to give him momentum. “I started doing pop-ups and spreading the word, and people remembered me from my samples.”
For seven months, Crumpler made his banana pudding at Denver Commissary, a local industrial kitchen. “Then I came to Stir-Pan to pitch a collab,” he recalls. “A few weeks later, [Stir-Pan founder] Brandon Muñoz reached out and asked if I wanted to move there.” The partnership has been a hit for Crumpler and fans of his pudding, who can now find it every day of the week at the shop. (Cups are also available for pick-up at Wine Dispensary LoDo on Little Raven Street.)
The Yellow Fix’s original flavor, rich with banana cream and vanilla, has a delicate sweetness and a whipped, airy texture that’s like eating a cloud in a cup. Nilla Wafers soak it all up, creating bites that bring soft, chewy and crunchy textures to the dessert.

At Stir-Pan, the Yellow Fix also offers a continually changing lineup of banana pudding variations, such as carrot cake, red velvet, cinnamon spice with Biscoff cookies, blueberry cheesecake, strawberry shortcake, pistachio chocolate, peanut butter cup and Nutter Butter. There’s a banana pudding sundae collab with Stir-Pan on offer as well.
Crumpler continues to sling pudding outside of Stir-Pan, too. On Fridays, fans can find the Yellow Fix on offer from the Blue Pan food truck when it’s parked outside Public Offering Brewing Company. In Lakewood, Yummy’s Donut House offers a Yellow Fix collab donut flavor, Pistachio Cream Dream, as a weekend special, and there are plans to add a banana pudding donut to its menu soon.

“Our biggest focus right now is growing the brand, marketing and collaboration,” Crumpler says. “This summer, we’re gonna be at the South Pearl Street Farmer’s market doing mini banana pudding sundaes with Stir-Pan Creamery. We’ll be doing poffertjes, too,” he adds, referring to mini Dutch pancakes.
In the meantime, Crumpler continues to test new recipes in the kitchen while creating new relationships throughout Denver, one cup of banana pudding at a time.
The Yellow Fix is located inside Stir-Pan Creamery at 1221 South Pearl Street, which is open from 2 to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon to 9:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. For more information, visit theyellowfix.com or follow it on Instagram @theyellowfix.
