Fifteen-Year-Old Copper Kettle Brewery to Shutter This Summer

Just like last year, 2026 is bringing some big changes in the local beer scene; another brewery just announced its upcoming closure.

When Copper Kettle opened in April 2011 at 1338 South Valentia Street, near the border of Denver and Aurora, it aimed to fill a geographic hole in the brewing scene. And it found a lot of success while doing so, building a business that was embraced by the neighborhood and bringing craft brews to a part of town that was thirsty for a nearby option.

But this summer, Copper Kettle will join the growing list of local beer businesses that have or will soon shut down, such as Colorado Plus Brew Pub, which is set to pour its last pint in Wheat Ridge at the end of May. Already closed are favorites like Call to Arms, Dry Dock Brewing’s original Aurora location and Goldspot Brewing Company.

Copper Kettle’s last day will be Saturday, June 27.

“For the next three months it’s business as usual,” reads a Facebook post announcing the news. “Same beers, same events, and all the familiar faces. More than anything, we want the time we have remaining to be a celebration of the incredible community that has made the past 15 years so special. What started as a brewery became something much bigger. A place filled with friendships, laughter, and countless memories. We’ve been beyond lucky to share pints, music, game nights, milestones, and personal losses with all of you; we truly consider you part of our family.”

Owner and head brewer Jeremy Gobien and his team hope that the brewery’s last weeks will be joyful. The event schedule includes Copper Kettle’s fifteenth anniversary party, set to take place June 6-8. “As long as there is beer left to sell and people around to share them with, we will stay open to the public through Saturday, June 27th,” the announcement notes.

Fans are also welcome to visit the brewery tonight, March 30, to speak in person with Gobien, who will be on hand to answer any questions starting at 6 p.m. .

Copper Kettle is located at 1338 South Valentia Street and will be open from 2 to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 2 to 10 p.m. Friday, noon to 10 p.m. Saturday and noon to 8 p.m. Sunday through June 27. For more information, visit copperkettledenver.com.
