Firefighters know from good chili — they should, since they have to cook enough of it in the station house. So the competition should be heated today when firefighters face off to see whose chili recipe is the best. The Denver Firefighters Chili Cook-Off will take place at Larimer Square between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.; local and national fire departments will compete for the titles of Best Green Chili, Best Carne Chili and Hottest Chili. Proceeds of the event will benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association; for more info, go to www.mdausa.org.
