The Denver FIVE, just like the famous Magnificent Seven, are a varied bunch of chefs fighting for the survival and honor of their home town. Both groups teamed up for a greater cause, but the Denver FIVE will be slinging chocolatey goodness around the West rather than six-shooters and justice. The FIVE – Noah French of Sugarmill, Aniedra Nichols of Elway’s Cherry Creek, John Depierro of Bones, Kevin Grossi of Lola Mexican Fish House and Enrique Socarras of Suehiro Old Town – will be collaborating on and cooking a chocolate-inspired, five-course menu today at Sugarmill. From 6 to 8 p.m. you can indulge in five courses and five passed appetizers, including dishes like foie gras mousse, chocolate shortbread, tangerine marmalade and toasted Marcona almonds. Or how about espresso-rubbed Colorado lamb chop, charred raspberry aioli and cocoa nibs? And that’s just the beginning. And to ignite the senses, Gerard Collier, bar manager at Pinche Taco, will be shaking up cocktails; esoteric wines selected by Wine Wizard Aaron Forman, owner and sommelier at Table 6, will be served. Even if it doesn’t win the West, this meal will certainly win your heart. Tickets to the event are $60; purchase them here.
