Fall’s here! Although technically it won’t be autumn until September 23, you can tell the seasons are changing — not just by the cooler weather, but also by all the Oktoberfest celebrations.
Denver’s Oktoberfest, featuring German fare, crafts and entertainment, plus fireworks and a bratwurst-eating contest, lands on Larimer Street in the Ballpark Neighborhood today, with the fun continuing tomorrow and Sunday, and then the repeating September 23-25. For more information, go to www.oktoberfestdenver.com.
And weekends through Sunday, October 9, you can hop on board the Oktoberfest Train at the Royal Gorge Route Railroad. The train leaves Canon City at 12:30 p.m., then takes you on a two-hour journey that includes a three-course, traditional Oktoberfest meal, a commemorative pint glass, live accordion music and more. Tickets are $45 to $95; for more info, call 1-888-724-5748 or visit www.royalgorgereservations.com.
