This is definitely one of Denver’s most happening gay bars, and the Blow Job shot ($5) is one reason why. Made with layers of Baileys, butterscotch and vodka and served in a shot glass, this creamy delight is meant to be slammed. But there’s a trick to doing the Blow Job correctly — you can’t use your hands. Practice makes perfect.
Since JR.’s features fabulous theme nights like “Drag Queen Bingo, “Gong Show Karaoke” and the “Feygle Feud Game Show,” an entertaining evening is positively guaranteed. And even though JR.’s is famous for its swinging pickup scene, an eclectic group — boy, girl, straight, gay — hangs out in harmony at the Uptown hotspot. But not to worry: Buff men in tight shirts with firm butts are still the norm.
