While numerous nightclubs have sprung up in Denver over the past year, many have already dried up and blown away. But not Lotus: The Union Station discotheque is in full bloom. Brought to us by the owners of the swank Mynt True Lounge and Blue 67, this 10,000-square-foot club combines sleek Asian influences with mod, Vegas-style design — and killer cocktails. The drink menu features twenty naughtily named drinks; the favorite of many ladies, including me, is the Wet Princess ($7). Made with Beefeater Wet Gin, Cointreau, Chambord and lime juice and served up, this luscious pink concoction makes even the tamest girls go wild. And Lotus’s dark dance floor is just the place to do that. If you want to play with the big boys, fork over $160 and you and three friends can enjoy bottle service in the super-swank Karma VIP room that boasts a private entrance, custom red-velvet couches and a wall of glass overlooking the rest of the club so that all the little people can look up and see you partying in style. But the real place to see and be seen is outside this Saturday night, when Lotus hosts the grand opening of its Bombay Garden patio.
