You better like brown rice and romaine lettuce. Freshii, the growing, Chicago-based fast/healthy food chain started by a former Oscar de la Renta public relations manager, opens in Republic Plaza today, bringing its wraps, rice noodles, organic oatmeal, and a multitude of other options to a broader cross-section of Coloradoans.

Most meals run $6-8, and while about two-thirds of the menu features lunch and dinner -type fare, Freshii also serves breakfast wraps, muesli, yogurt and other morning eats, along with the straight-from-an-Onion-article-sounding Socially Conscious coffee.

Freshii, which formerly went by the more rabbit-y sounding name, Lettuce Eatery, opened its first Colorado location at the Denver Tech Center earlier this spring. Mark Damschoder, who owns the two Colorado locations, hopes to bring even more Freshiis to the state in the near future. “I’m looking to develop more, through my own investments and by bringing on enthusiastic franchisee candidates,” he says.

Hours of the new location are Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. For more information, call 303-825-3320.
