After I ate at Silla for this week’s review — and before I discovered the bibim naeng myun at Sae Jong Kwan — I decided to try Grandma’s Korean BBQ, a popular spot that had relocated from Sixth Avenue to 11650 Montview Boulevard in Aurora after Song Park, the woman who owned the place, tried to retire a couple of years ago but was unable to stay out of the kitchen.

I drove out to the new address a couple of weeks ago, only to find that she’d finally made good on her plan: Grandma’s Korean BBQ is no more.

The place shuttered a couple of months ago. Park serves up thanks to her former customers on the Grandma’s website, along with a photo slide show of what she’s been up to since closing up shop.
