Before leaving for Mexico City — the land of tacos al pastor — I decided to Thai one on in Denver, noshing my way through a panang curry with pork that I’d asked the kitchen to prepare “Thai hot.” I clearly didn’t look the part, however, because what was dropped on the table was anything but.
