Il Posto adds more hours to its happy time

Il Posto, the Italian trattoria at 2011 East 17th Street, already has expanded hours (at least, by Denver standards), offering dinner Sunday through Thursday until 11:30 p.m. and until midnight on Friday and Saturday, and now, the buzzy Uptown restaurant has stretched its daily happy hour to include an extra 30 minutes of happy fun.

Ora felice – that means happy hour in Italian – kicks off at 5 p.m., with half-price wines by the glass, Italian-inspired cocktails and appetizers, including stuffed calamari, braised pork belly, walnut-crusted scallops and Manila clams with cumin, sunflower sprouts and Meyer lemons. Il Posto’s happy hour deals, available every day until 6: 30 p.m., are valid inside and on the terrific patio, which qualifies as one of the best people-watching squares of sidewalk in the city.
