While many of you are out cheering on the Rockies at today’s home opener and reveling (win or lose) at the Ballpark neighborhood’s many bars and restaurants, one of Denver’s most anticipated new eateries, Solitaire, is quietly throwing out its first pitch today in West Highland, in the former home of Highland’s Garden Cafe.

Not too far away in Uptown, Gretchen Kurtz visited D Bar Denver to see if chef-owner Keegan Gerhard’s relocated restaurant was playing its A game or striking out. Beer Man Jonathan Shikes checked in at the former Five Points DMV to get a look at a new brewery called Spangalang. And in his weekly Ethniche series, Mark Antonation hunted for gochujang at Aurora Korean soup spot Tofu House. In other news:
