Wild Ginger, the excellent Thai restaurant at 399 West Littleton Boulevard in Littleton, is on hiatus until August 28, an extended holiday of sorts, while owner Somsak Damrongsang hangs out in his native Thailand and the kitchen gets a makeover.
“We remodeled the dining room four years ago, but we didn’t do anything with the kitchen, and it needs some repairs, so we’re redoing it while Somsak takes a vacation,” explains general manger Sue Nan Rehathorn.
When Wild Ginger reopens, says Rehathorn, the menu, an assemblage of pervasive Thai curries, soups and noodle dishes that pop with flavor, will be exactly the same, as will the dining room, tinted the colors of Thai spices and harboring traditional sunken tables padded with pillowed floor seats.
