On Saturday, April 12, Tom Ryan and his crew of pizza cohorts will open another Live Basil Pizza, a homegrown, fast-casual concept that, according to Ryan, also the founder of Smashburger and Tom’s Urban, is based upon “hand-stretched doughs, organic San Marzano tomatoes, live hydroponic basil and other organic, natural, authentic or imported ingredients.”
This, Ryan’s fifth location, is opening at 7740 West Alameda, across the street from Belmar, and all day on Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., the kitchen is firing up free pizzas. The complimentary pizzas are only available at this location, and in order to get one, you’ll need to “like” Live Basil Pizza on Facebook — and prove it, either by printing out the page or showing, via your cellphone, that you’re a fan.
