Jack’s Modern Steakhouse

One of the first openings of 2026 was Jack’s Modern Steakhouse, the new sister eatery of Jack’s on Pearl. It debuted on January 15 in the former Mimi’s Cafe space at 9155 Park Meadows Drive in Lone Tree, where it was designed to specialize in wagyu steaks cooked on a pecan wood grill.
“Opening in Lone Tree feels like bringing Jack’s home,” said Darryl Shoemaker, Jack’s president, ahead of the restaurant’s debut. “After years of seeing the area’s incredible growth, and hearing from guests and neighbors craving a great dining experience without heading to Denver, it just made sense. Repurposing the former Mimi’s space allowed us to build on a familiar foundation and create something fresh. It felt like the perfect way to serve a community I’m proud to call home.”
The new Jack’s spans 5,700 square feet and includes a large kitchen, several private dining rooms, a bar and lounge area, and a 595-square-foot outdoor patio.
But just a week after its debut, the restaurant was forced to close following a fire on the evening of January 22.

On January 25, the restaurant offered an update on social media: “There was a small fire at Jack’s at Lone Tree. Fire crews responded quickly, located the source on the second floor, and got it under control before it spread. Thankfully, there were no guests inside and no injuries. Investigators are now determining the cause, and we’ll be temporarily closed while remediation is completed. We’re hopeful to reopen within about a month. We’re incredibly grateful for the firefighters, the support from our community, and our Jack’s family as we take care of one another. Thank you for standing with us — we’ll be back soon.”
The original Jack’s opened at 1475 South Pearl Street in 2022 and was created by Steve Lockton, who named the restaurant after his father. It remains open as usual.
