When the Boulder Draft House vacated its digs on 13th Street between Walnut and Pearl last year, it left a massive space, conveniently outfitted with a brewing system, empty for several months.
But that spot is about to get new life. George Hanna, who once owned The Oasis (which shuttered after twelve years in business), picked up the lease, and he’s putting the finishing touches on the spot’s revamp, hiring employees and gearing up to open Los Oasis Latin Grill.
Josiah Richmond, the restaurant’s general manager, says the eatery will be an upscale Oaxacan Mexican joint, higher end than any other Latin restaurant in town. “It’s more like fine dining than, say, Zolo,” he says.
The board will include dishes that combine mole, plantains and nopal cactus with prawns, seabass and chicken, all of which will be complemented by a beverage program built on house-crafted beer and spirits.

“We’re brewing our own Mexican lager on site,” he notes. “And we’ll make our own blue agave liquor.”
Los Oasis should open in early June.
