Last month, Lonni Byrd and Caronne Porter announced that they’re losing the lease on their cozy vegan soul-food eatery, Love, Peace & Sol Cafe; the restaurant will be closing up shop at 3435 Albion Street after August 7. At the time, Byrd was unsure of the direction that the restaurant would take — but it now looks like she and Porter have made up their minds and will continue on without a brick-and-mortar location.
Instead, they’ll switch to catering, pop-up events and personal chef services, something the two have done together over the years in both Denver and Atlanta. They’ll also offer juicing demos and cooking classes.
For the next two weeks, from Wednesday through Sunday, you can still head over to Love, Peace & Sol to get your share of delicious cornbread, braised greens, black-eyed peas and other meatless Southern specialties. Just don’t forget to bring cash.
