Empanadas are coming to the Denver Tech Center. Lorena Cantarovici, chef/owner of Maria Empanada at 1298 South Broadway, is opening a second location of her Argentinian bakery/cafe at 8000 East Belleview Avenue, in the Belleview Promenade shopping center.
Cantarovici says she plans to open the first week of September in a space that’s currently being transformed by Cadence Design Studio, the same group responsible for the bright, sunny decor at her Broadway location.
“We will be open at 6 a.m. for the DTC breakfast crowd with breakfast empanadas and tartitas, as well as the identical lunch menu we have at our Broadway location,” the chef explains. There will also be an orange-juice machine imported from Spain on the order counter so that customers can watch fresh oranges being pressed for their juice orders.
The DTC expansion is just the beginning of growth for Maria Empanada; Cantarovici will also be joining the mix at the Stanley Marketplace in Aurora, where she hopes to open in November.
