Patios are so popular in Denver that bars and restaurants fight for every square foot of turf or sidewalk where they can plant a table, a chair, a stool. As a result, this city is full of great places to sit outside — some spots garden-like and secluded, others street-wide, right in the middle of the action.
And more are coming all the time. After thirty years, Taqueria Patzcuaro, at 2616 West 32nd Avenue, is finally putting in a long-promised patio; construction crews are out there today working on the site. The Cherry Cricket at 2641 East Second is adding a big, wrap-around sidewalk patio to complement the spot it already has in back; it should be ready next month.
Tomorrow, just in time for the long Memorial Day weekend, we’ll post a list of our favorite restaurant/bar patios and sidewalk cafes. Have some ideas of your own? Post them below.
