Pete’s Patio Bar in southeast Denver — formerly Prickly Pete’s — will be serving its last pints Sunday night, since the bar has been sold to the owners of Jonesy’s, Horseshoe Lounge and Bar Car. “I just sold the place, nothing dramatic,” says current owner Scott Happel.

Pete’s will be throwing a party this weekend to get rid of the liquor stock. “We’re going to have a a big shindig on Sunday for the Super Bowl, and then just hang out and drink with everyone who’s been coming here for a while,” Happel explains.
“So many of you have helped make this last year the amazing, crazy, fun ride that it has been,” reads the Facebook invite to the “That’s All Folks” going-away party.

After that, Pete’s will close, and the space will undergo a major remodel. Its replacement — name TBD — should be open in late March or early April.
