Just got word that Primebar, a “new restaurant concept dedicated to fusing delectable dining with a sophisticated nightlife atmosphere” (according to the press release), is slated to open in the former Palomino space at 1515 Arapahoe Street in early May.

That all sounds great, but I’m more interested in who’s cooking. And while I’ve got a pretty good idea of who that might be, I’m not talking.Yet.Suffice it to say that if all goes well at dinner tonight between a certain Denver chef and the suits at Primebar, I’ll let you know. If not, I’ll let you know that, too.

When Primebar opens, it’ll serve lunch and dinner daily beginning at 11 a.m. Happy hour, late-night dining and live music/DJs are also part of the plan. And just so you know, the “hip music” doesn’t have “hop” in it. “I would imagine it would be a mix of things at different times of day, a lot like KBCO with some classic rock, new artists and a little college radio thrown in later at night,” explained managing partner Justin Lloyd.
I’m hip to that.
