The rumor started over a year ago, and Voodoo Doughnut has finally rolled into town — with the location at 1520 East Colfax Avenueslated to open later this month. “We’re bringing the circus to town,” says Tres Shannon, who founded the Portland-based chain with Kenneth “Cat Daddy” Pogson. “And Denver jumped out to us as a spot that has the Voodoo vibe.” And doughnut fans in Denver agree.

After a recent extremely disappointing trip down memory lane at Dunkin’, I can’t wait for Voodoo. Hope their creations are worth an occasional fat and calorie splurge — DD’s certainly weren’t.
