Red Ginger opened its doors today in the former home of Sonoda’s at 550 Broadway. The restaurant is serving a range of Asian fusion dishes — including sushi currently discounted by 50 percent — but the new owners didn’t make any significant changes to the space. In fact, those doors are still adorned with the “seafood” and “sushi” signage from Sonoda’s.

The spot was relatively busy when we stopped by early this afternoon, though. And there was action next door, too, where the Denver version of Pizzeria Locale will be opened by Bobby Stuckey and Lachlan MacKinnon-Patterson, the nationally-renowned owners of Boulder-based Frasca.
Red Ginger will be open Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Visit the website for the menu and call 720-627-5762 for more information.
