Rooster & Moon, 955 Bannock Street, has partnered with Denver Urban Ministries — a local nonprofit that assists impoverished communities — for a week-long food drive at the coffee shop and pub that starts today. Customers who donate to the effort will receive a free drink of their choice (alcoholic beverages included). But in order to get that drink, you have to trade in a jar of peanut butter.

According to volunteers at Denver Urban Ministries, donations of peanut butter are particularly rare, so the nonprofit decided to begin a campaign focusing on that one food item.
And the donation program — which runs through Sunday, June 2 — couldn’t have come at a better time: Rooster & Moon is introducing its new summer cocktail menu today.
