The challenges facing local news organizations are very real. That's why reader support matters more than ever. If you believe independent journalism matters, make a contribution today and help us reach our summer fundraising goal of $25,000 by August 9.

$25,000

It’s been a long time coming, but we hear that Phat Thai — the Denver offshoot of Mark Fischer’s famed Carbondale restaurant — is opening at 11 a.m. today at 2900 East Second Avenue.

Here’s the word on the new spot from the Phat Thai website: “Located in the still decidedly hip and fashionable Cherry Creek neighborhood, where ‘hole in the wall noodle joint’ meets casual neighborhood restaurant and lounge meets something a little more sophisticated: a poised urban design of reclaimed woods, architectural metals and glass walls that define our space for a menu inspired by our travels to SE Asia.”

We’ll post an update later today.
