For three years, the Blue Spruce Market at 1552 Bergen Parkway has been a regular stop for Evergreen residents and other fans of folksy service and fresh produce, meat and fish. But the market owned by Carol and Seth Miller will shut its doors for good at the end of the day Saturday, March 21, after a final close-out sale and one last Third Friday Wine and Cheese open house starting at 4 p.m. today.

Here’s the bad news, announced earlier this month on their website:

Dear Friends, Customers and Neighbors,

It is with deep sadness that we announce the closing of Blue Spruce Market.

It has been an honor for us to be part of the Evergreen community as business owners and community members. The variety of people and businesses we have met, coupled with the beautiful outdoors, has made a lasting impression. This makes it even more difficult to face the fact that Blue Spruce Market is leaving Evergreen.

Blue Spruce has been an incredibly rewarding business for us. We are proud of what we built here and we are deeply saddened by the fact that we must close our doors. We had every intention to be here for the long haul and make Evergreen Blue Spruce’s home.

We are truly grateful for all the support and encouragement our many loyal customers provided. To you we owe a sincere, heartfelt thank you!

Our last day of business will be March 21st. Please join us for our final Third Friday Wine and Cheese event on March 20th at 4PM. We’ll look forward to the chance to thank you and say goodbye in person!
