Spit or swallow: comment of the week

We enjoy reading your comments here on Cafe Society, soaking up the compliments, laughing off the insults and pondering the insights.

Sometimes, though, one comment stands out, and we like to acknowledge its specialness with a little extra love.

This week, the honor goes to the filthy implication left by “Great Writing” on my review of Pho Duy:

The true Laura Shunk comes out. I guess she swallows everything. “but after I inhaled one six-inch roll, along with plenty of the sweet, nutty sauce”

Oh, the blurry line between sex and food.

Given that I’m a hired mouth, it’s my job to swallow. Happily, though, my duties don’t extend beyond the gastronomic realm.
