Independent Journalism in Denver Needs You
We need to raise $25,000 by August 9 to support the reporting our community depends on. Reader support keeps us independent and is playing a larger role in funding local journalism and shaping what comes next. If you believe independent local journalism matters, make a contribution today.
Sputnik, the hipper-than-thou Baker ‘hood bar, renowned for its hangover weekend brunch, live music acts and globetrotting menu catering (mostly) to vegetarians and vegans, has gone dark, at least until tomorrow, when the tatted ‘tenders can begin pouring booze again.
Seems as though the groovy watering hole got itself into some trouble with the Denver Department of Excise and Licenses for violation of the Colorado liquor/beer code, as evidenced by the “hang in shame” sign currently plastered on the window. Oops.
It won’t be shuttered for long, though. Sputnik will reopen promptly at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow morning pouring Bloodys and PBR to those who can provide proof-positive evidence of their age eligibility.
