Boulder’s Walnut Cafe is on an expansion tear. Just last year, owners Julia Buonanno, Dana Derichsweiler and Ashlie Beckham, the trio behind the South Side Walnut Cafe, located at 673 South Broadway, unveiled Walnut-a-go-go, which took their most popular items to the street. And now, Nicole Plotkin, a long-time employee of the Boulder outposts, is taking the brand to Lafayette, building out a small space and getting ready to unveil Super Mini Walnut Cafe.
Like its siblings, the new Walnut Cafe will serve an all-day breakfast menu in addition to soups, salads and sandwiches for lunch. And while the place is small, it isn’t what we’d call super small: the total real estate for the new restaurant is about 2,000 square feet.
The eatery plans to open its doors later this summer.
