Hungry for a good time today? The Denver Botanic Gardens and Chipotle Mexican Grill are presenting the fifth annual Sustainable Food Film Series, which aims to raise awareness of healthy and sustainable approaches to the way we grow, produce and consume food. At 6:30 p.m. tonight, the series will screen Lunch Hour at Mitchell Hall in the Denver Botanic Gardens. Lunch Hour takes a look at America’s National School Lunch Program, and asks if the unhealthy foods served to our children at school may play a role in the childhood obesity crisis that our country is going through. Starting at 6 p.m., Chipotle will be serving a meal that’s included in the $5 ticket price. For more information on the series or to register in advance for the event, visit botanicgardens.org.

At Westword, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $21,500 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $50,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of Westword, now’s the time to give back.
