There are plenty of $10 meal-deals in Denver, as evidenced by our recent roster detailing five of the city’s best dinners for a tenner or less, but a lot of those joints are cheap to begin with, and unless you eat like us — pigs — you’d be hard-pressed to spend more than ten bucks at a temple of pho or a burger barn like the Providence Tavern. But at restaurants like TAG, where a burger rings in at $14, ten ones won’t get you very far.
Unless, that is, you take advantage of TAG’s new $10 liquid lunch menu.
The deal, offered Monday through Friday, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the bar, took root earlier this year, when Leigh Sullivan-Guard, who runs the restaurant with her husband and exec chef Troy Guard, wanted to give the lunch bunch something substantial to chew on — without robbing wallets, while simultaneously giving her startenders something to do other than juggle orange slices.
“I wanted to create a way that my cocktail artists could make some money during their lunch shifts, because while the entire dining room was full, the bar would sit empty,” says Sullivan-Guard. “So, I figured, why not get creative and think of a lunch bargain that you’d have to be bananas to ignore?”

To that end, the kitchen staff has partnered with the bar staff to offer lunch and liquid — and the board changes daily. Tomorrow, for example, you can get a cheeseburger and fries, plus a bottled craft beer; on Wednesday, it’s a Thai chicken salad and a glass of wine; and Thursday, chipotle steak wraps and a handcrafted cocktail. “A cheeseburger is $14 on our menu and a bottled beer is $6, but if you hang out with the bartenders, it’s just $10, which is a red-hot smoking deal,” says Sullivan-Guard.
The bar, she notes, seats ten flies, and if you happen to waltz in when it’s full, there are a handful of high-tops that you can belly up to — and still get your lunch and liquid assets for $10. The only caveat is that you can’t plop down in the dining room. “We have great bartenders here at TAG; you should get to know them,” says Sullivan-Guard.
