After a decade at 255 S. Broadway, Barker Lounge is moving to 475 Santa Fe Drive, once home to the Continental Club, One Eyed Jacks and most recently the NV Lounge.
Barker manager Preston Carter says the bar shut its old location last Sunday after losing its lease and plans to have the new space, which will be open from noon to 2 a.m. every day, up and running by Sunday, but there’s a chance it could be open as soon as tomorrow.
“We really didn’t want to leave, truth be told, but we wanted stay in the area,” Carter says. “We looked at several places and for some reason or another every one just wasn’t the right place.”
Carter says everything will be the same as the old spot, including the the drink specials and happy hour, and it’ll still be dog friendly as well. A new patio and fence on the west side of the building should be complete by the end of next week. And on First Fridays, the bar will offer $5 parking that also gets you a ticket for a drink.
