Coffee culture in Denver has finally arrived.
Hot Chick-a-Latte, one of a couple of “bikini coffee” concepts from the Pacific Northwest has opened a bright pink location (well, mostly pink; they seem to have run out of paint half way through) in the A-frame building at 4736 East Colfax Avenue – former home to many other eateries, including Atomic Wings, Rib Shack and a Der Wienerschnitzel.
The ladies there serve your Joe in one of several “cup” sizes while wearing a different revealing outfit — everything from cowgirls to naughty school girls to pink feather boas — each day of the week.
And if business is slow – which is hasn’t been – the girls hit the streets – in costume – waving signs that certainly perk up drivers.
Hot Chick-a-Latte has four shops in the Seattle area, but this is the first one in Denver; a similar company, Perky Cups, opened a store in Aurora last fall. (No one from Hot Chick-a-Latte returned calls seeking comment.)
And don’t confuse it with Chicka Latte Beautiful Coffee, also from the Seattle area, which offers a slightly more classed up version of the same thing.
