I’m willing to drive across town for donuts. I’m even willing to drive across many towns for them, which is why I’ve made the trek to Evergreen more than once. There, at Tin Star Café & Donut Haus, you’ll find a quirky but but very satisfying combination: apple fritters (my favorite) and barbecue, which is another thing I’m willing to go out of my way for. So in March I was happy to see that another Tin Star had opened closer to home. But when I dropped by this new Golden outpost, I was dismayed to find no sprinkles, custard fillings, chocolate glazes or fritters of any kind.
