Despite 450 years in the grape-stomping business, Mexican wines aren’t exactly flying off the shelves, but the Mexican Cultural Center and Consulate General of Mexico, along with Strings, will attempt to silence your inner cynic tonight, when Strings, 1700 Humboldt Street, hosts a Mexican wine dinner.
The fiesta kicks off at 5:30 p.m. with Mexican appetizers prepared by exec chef Lance Barto, followed by a class on Mexican wines conducted by Pilar Mere, the sommelier from the Mexican Wine Association. The class is $35 per person; to make reservations, call 303-831-7310.
