$20,000

I got kicked out of the Girl Scouts…something about hanky panky, but there are plenty of other civilized girls that made it through the badges, the oaths…the cookie sales. And this year, the Girl Scouts are marking their 100-year anniversary, and you can celebrate — and help to continue the tradition — by eating at at any one of the seventy restaurants that’s participating in tonight’s Dine Out for Girl Scouts. A percentage of sales will be donated to the organization, which provides grant funding to economically disadvantaged, at-risk communities, including Colorado, where 30 percent of the Girl Scouts come from underprivileged homes.

There are some participating restaurants — Chuck E. Cheese, for example — that you’ll likely want to bypass, but there are numerous others, including Panzano, Encore on Colfax, Bittersweet, Ambria, Row 14, Le Grand Bistro & Oyster Bar, Crimson Canary, Park Burger and TAG, that you won’t. And restaurants likes Encore, Bittersweet and Palettes at the Denver Art Museum are even creating dishes made with Girl Scout cookies.
