Last week, four Denver restaurants — Fruition, Root Down, Squeaky Bean and Colt & Gray — got some major love from New York Times scribe Jay Cheshes, who spotlighted the restaurants’ field-to-fork endeavors.
But The Times wasn’t the only paper doling out love to Denver: USA Today, in its round-up of the fifty best ice cream parlors in the country, lavished praise on one Denver ice creamery — namely, Sweet Action, the house of eclectic flavors at 52 Broadway.
Read the accolades after the jump.
Some of the flavors at Sweet Action Ice Cream in Denver might sound odd (brown bread molasses, salted butterscotch), but they’re inspired and amazingly good. They also do a wonderful chocolate and vanilla.
The latest flavors to grace the roster? Bailey’s Irish cream, brown sugar banana, Vietnamese coffee, blackberry, mint chip and strawberry shortcake.
