Noah Stephens, the mastermind behind Vert Kitchen, has expanded his business once again, this time taking his unique brand of slow-cooked, farm-fresh, French-inspired culinary goodness to local Natural Grocers stores.

Customer demand drove the entrepreneur’s latest endeavor. “I was getting continuous requests for increased availability of our products, so I felt putting our Grab&Go products in a supermarket was the next natural step,” Stephens says, noting that Grab&Go products had already been available in spots such as Pura Vida, Tattered Cover and The Desk for about a year. Last month, he broke into the supermarket sector with Natural Grocers, a natural fit.
“It’s a company that shares many of my values,” says Stephens. Grab&Go products adhere to all of Vert Kitchen’s core philosophies: the emphasis on organic produce and local ingredients, and the use of recyclable and compostable packaging, some of which is made locally by Eco-Products in Boulder. Even Vert’s labels — printed on recycled paper — are considerate.
For Grab&Go, Stephens took Vert’s most popular in-house items — the turkey and fig sandwich and tuna power salad — and made them portable. He also concocted a few items exclusively for Grab&Go: a roast chicken banh mi with watermelon radishes, spicy mayonnaise, peanuts, mint and cilantro; a vegan organic quinoa and greens creation; Saigon chicken salad; and an omelette wrap. And he hints that some of Vert’s ridiculously delicious baked goods may be making an appearance on the Grab&Go line soon.
