Buy Local Week comes to a close today, but the campaign’s overall goal is to remind consumers to support local business, something that’s certainly worth doing year-round. Here’s a great way to do it: Visit the free, weekly wine-tasting at the very local Marczyk Fine Foods, 770 East 17th Avenue, and then buy a few bottles.
Sommelier Elisabeth Beemer will be pouring and discussing a selection of Italian wines this evening; she’ll also pair them with artisan cheeses from the shop. And there are always discounts associated with the tasting: 5 percent off for three bottles, 10 percent off for six bottles and 15 percent off for a case (12 bottles).
