Tacos DF

The menu at this strip-mall operation is a greatest-hits list of everything there is to love about Mexican street food, plus a few surprises (Mexican consomme?). But the best item is the torta: messy, dripping, delicious and offered in several variations, including the D.F., served either “combinaci

Taste of Philly

The original six-seater takeout place on Colorado Boulevard was founded by a guy from Pennsylvania, and even though it’s now owned by folks from south Jersey, they still know how to make a real Philadelphia cheesesteak. It’s a great sandwich in every way, from the caramelized onions to the chopped steak to the American cheese […]

Thai Pot Cafe

Thai Pot Cafe got its start in a small space on South Colorado Boulevard and moved into its current large and airy home a few blocks away in 2014. While there’s a lot to love on the menu, it’s the drunken noodles that have become a best seller. There’s always a nice char on the […]

Topgolf Centennial

Topgolf is the only entertainment center of its kind, offering competitive golfing games for all ages and skill levels that you can play year round. Players hit golf balls containing computer microchips that track each shot’s accuracy and distance while awarding points for hitting targets on the outfield. Each facility offers an upscale and playful […]

Tuscany

This is romantic, refined dining, in a room so elegant you forget Tuscany is part of a hotel. The kitchen focuses on things Italian, offering sophisticated fare (including wonderful rustic breads) that takes a few chances.

If you’re looking for the big menu, the something-for-everyone brunch experience, this is the place to go. Now with eight Colorado spots, Urban Egg is a growing, locally owned chain that prioritizes community and people-first values, and backs that up with high-quality food that consistently comes through on flavor and execution. Offerings run the gamut, […]

Viva Burrito Company

Viva Burrito Company has zero decor and zero ambiance, but the food coming out of this little red box is fantastic. Not white-tablecloth fantastic: plastic-silverware-and-paper-napkin fantastic, with a serious “Gimme twenty bucks and I’ll show you the real Mexico” vibe. The breakfast burritos are good, the deep-fried tacos and gigantic tortas even better. Best of […]

W.T. Shorty’s

A multi-level, cavernous sports bar tucked away in a South Denver strip mall, W.T. Shorty’s has a dark wooden interior that feels like an adult version of Casa Bonita. Instead of cliff diving, though, there’s a massive, three-sided center bar backed by a wall of flat-screen TVs. Each seat in the house seems positioned for […]

Wahoo’s Fish Taco

The grilled mahi-mahi tacos alone are worth a stop at this fun, Baja-inspired space that specializes in tortillas filled with fish done healthy. Much of the food is made to order, and it’s all delivered in abundance, with rice and black beans rounding out the plates. Wahoo’s also makes an exceptional margarita.

Walton Donuts

Walton Donuts has only been open since 2004, but it has the old soul of a lived-in doughnut stop. Customers can pop in for simple, no-nonsense options like the basic cake doughnut (perfect for coffee-dipping), iced doughnuts with toppings ranging from peanuts to coconut and sprinkles, and cinnamon rolls and maple-topped twists.

The Watering Bowl

Dubbed “your best friend’s bar,” the Watering Bowl is a dog-friendly spot housed in the former Priddy Auction Galleries space on Leetsdale Drive. Although dogs aren’t actually allowed inside of the 13,000-square-foot bar, there are 7,000 additional square feet outside for a fenced-in private dog park. The Watering Bowl has a fully stocked regular bar […]
