Bored with the same old pre-rolls and weed gummies? Get out of the summer doldrums and climb up to the clouds with new and interesting products at Denver dispensaries.

Headlining this week's shopping list is Westword's dogwalker joint collaboration with Meraki and Mighty Melts. Please excuse the shameless plug, but these packs of half-gram joints are worth checking out. The joints are filled with strain-specific flower and bubble hash, including fan favorites like Golden Goat, Black Maple and the Fizz, and hit perfectly during an after-work walk around the neighborhood. (Even better: a portion of sales goes toward our newsroom.)

We've also discovered edibles steeped in '90s nostalgia, a new Wyld gummy flavor and another heavy hitter from Green Dot Labs while on our dispensary rounds. See more High Notes below:

Westword and Meraki Joint Packs
After covering the local cannabis scene for decades, Westword has finally landed on dispensary shelves. That's right: We've partnered with the Meraki cultivation and the Mighty Melts hash lab to create limited-edition packs of dogwalker joints. Each of the three packs, mixed with specific strains of flower and concentrate, was picked with purpose.

Golden Goat, a timeless hybrid of Hawaiian, Romulan and Island Sweet Skunk, was paired with bubble hash from the Fizz, a hybrid of Sherb Cake and Strawberry Guava. Grease Bucket, a sticky, powerful hybrid, was infused with bubble hash from the ever-popular Black Maple. And for the final round intended for a relaxing puff, Meraki and Mighty Melts mixed Grape Mountain bubble hash and flower together for a fruity nighttime smoke.

You can find a limited amount at Nobo Dispensary in Denver or at any of the Dab's eight locations around Colorado, including the Dab's stores in downtown Denver and on West Alameda Boulevard. But hurry up, because these little hand grenades are going fast.

Wyld Kiwi Gummies
I've long maintained that kiwis are underrated. They're sweet, tart and tangy, and all you have to do is slice them in half and dig out their delicious flesh with a spoon — no need to waste time peeling them. Well, Wyld's new kiwi gummies give you some of that same flavor, but with THC and THCV instead of potassium. Intended for daytime use, the 1:1 ratio of THC and THCV is meant to provide an energetic buzz as you power through the day with a goofy grin and slightly puffy eyes. Like all Wyld gummies, the taste and texture are both dangerously on point, so don't get lost in the snack session and eat two too many.

Rewind Labs Edibles
An offshoot of Mountain High Suckers, Rewind Labs is bringing retro treats to retail dispensaries in Colorado. The brand's logo, bright graphics and AOL-style landing page are all intended to evoke memories at the snack bar or arcade for Gen Xers and millenials, and the candy edibles match those '90s expectations. Rewind's "Rad Rocks," THC-infused versions of Pop Rocks, taste and explode just like the original, while the "Elementals," tubs of infused candy powder that glow under a black light thanks to "weird nano science," remind me of making Creepy Crawlers in my garage.

These obviously need to be kept away from children, so it's probably best to remove these candies from their original packaging — even with the warning on Rewind's that its products are "like, super-duper totally NOT FOR KIDS." But they're pretty damn fun to snarf down before watching an old episode of Legends of the Hidden Temple on YouTube or walking to the park to throw around the Nerf ball.

Fire Bombs
Summer isn't quite over yet, but it's still time to crank up the heat with Fire Bombs. These tiny little cinnamon hot chews are from the folks behind Joy Bombs, a THC take on Skittles. Like Joy Bombs, Fire Bombs are candy-coated and infused with 2.5 milligrams of THC, but the hot flavor is a welcome change from most of the fruit gummies and sugary flavors out there.

Bourbon Street by Green Dot Labs
Ah, "delicious... bourbon. Brownest of the brown liquors... so tempting," attorney, cobbler and longtime truth teller Lionel Hutz once said on The Simpsons.

Those words go through my head every time I walk past my jar of Bourbon Street, a hybrid of Z-1000 and Forbidden Fruit from Green Dot Labs. Although it's a lot more purple than brown, Bourbon Street is every bit as sweet and seductive as a bottle of Pappy or Whistle Pig. With Triangle Kush, Purple Urkle and Zkittles on the Z-100 side and Cherry Pie and Tangie behind Forbidden Fruit (one of my favorite strains in 2023), Bourbon Street is how a candy strain should taste: sweet and fruity, sure, but distinct, with notes of frozen grapes, Shasta fruit punch soda, cedar and a subtle hashy back-end. Although potent, the strain isn't overpowering during the daytime, allowing for a much smoother (but equally sticky) trip down Bourbon Street than what you'd find in New Orleans.
