After more than a decade-long run, 5 Degrees (1475 Lawrence Street) is closing this weekend with a final bash on Saturday, June 4, with $20 for all-you-can-drink wells and $50 of bottle service. The building that houses the club is under construction to make way for University of Colorado Denver Business School. Paulina Szafranski, president of marketing for Lotus Concepts, says there was no option to renew the lease and that due to construction there was no way to continue operating a functional business. Starting Wednesday, June 8, the club's long-running Whipped Wednesdays ladies nights will move to Oak Tavern (1416 Market Street).
