The 2016 Westword Music Showcase will feature more than 100 local bands, representing an eclectic mix of the best artists from Colorado's Front Range. Below you can find a list of the first sixty bands that have signed on for this year's music blowout, happening Saturday, June 25. This slew of heavy-hitting locals will join previously announced national headliners Dillon Francis, Cold War Kids, Matt and Kim, New Politics, HEALTH, Brick + Mortar, Black Pistol Fire, Grizfolk and Chef'Special, as well as Denver band 888, which will also play on a main stage.

Among this first group of local acts, you'll find Brent Cowles and his new full band, the "organic electronic music" of RUMTUM, the soulful sounds of singer/songwriter/producer CRL CRRLL, the vibrant voice of Megan Burtt & the Cure for Love, and the energetic and ever-entertaining punk band SPELLS. These are just a few of the stellar artists we are getting excited about, but you can see the complete list below.
Our music scene has never felt more alive, and there’s no better place than the Westword Music Showcase to discover the next big thing, your new guilty pleasure or anything in between. Check out the full list of announced bands below, listen to their music in advance, and start making notes on which acts you can't miss this June. If you're ready, go ahead and vote for your favorites using the Showcase ballot

But wait — there's more! This is only the first round of announcements of the local lineup, so stay tuned for the rest to be announced soon.
