Splendid news coming out of the Bad Weather California camp this morning: In addition to joining Akron/Family (and Woodsman, Snake Rattle Rattle Snake, Widowers and the Dead Phish Orchestra) for its upcoming three-day residency at Quixotes on May 14-16, Bad Weather California is planning to head to High Bias studio in Detroit this summer to record a new album with the members of Akron/Family.
The news represents a marked shift in direction for Chris Adolf and company — Adam Baumiester (Littles Paia), Joe Sampson and Logan Corcoran — whose records, including their latest Young Punks, have been mostly self-produced and recorded. Suffice to say, we’re all eager to hear the results.
