Baji wants to announce your calls

If you're looking for some new music and in need of a new ring tone for your phone, have a listen to Baji. This pop/rock outfit reminds me a lot of the Heyday: similar radio-ready sound, same big, soaring choruses and hook-filled tunes. As a promotion, they're offering free ringtones to Verizon phone users who embed one of the two available songs into their MySpace profile. And whether you like them well enough to use them on your phone and MySpace or not, it's definitely worth a listen for fans of the Heyday and similar acts. If you like it, you can catch them January 10 at Owsley's Golden Road or February 4 at Herman's Hideaway. Hear it and get the details on the shows ad the promotion at Baji's MySpace page. -- Cory Casciato

Support the independent voice of Denver and help keep the future of Westword free.

Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Denver with no paywalls.
