Bethany Cosentino and Nathan Williams are too good to be true. She makes surf pop as Best Coast; he makes surf punk as Wavves. They used to date when they were younger and stupider; now they're famous and back together, happily tweeting out a new relationship. It's like a stoner remake of Grease, with the blogosphere playing the chorus. Cosentino and Williams are currently taking their love on the road in a joint tour that further blurs the already fuzzy line between their public lives as musicians and their private lives as a young couple. Their music is becoming more and more tied to their relationship, as evidenced by the text-message exchange between the two that we somehow managed to intercept, in which they appear to be conversing with one another in lines from songs they've written.

Bethany Cosentino: I'm sorry I lost your favorite T-shirt. I'll buy you a new one, a better one.

Nathan Williams: It's all the same.

BC: I want to talk about my day, it really sucked. I lost my job.

NW: Those guys were jerks.

BC: I miss my mom. I wish my cat could talk.

NW: Bogging me down with your unbearable tone. My head's numb.

BC: When I wake you up you're so cranky.

NW: I'm so bored. Won't do no chores. Sitting alone playing Nintendo in my room.

BC: You make me lazy, but I love you.

NW: I bet you laugh right behind my back.

BC: Every time you leave this house, everything falls apart. When you leave me, you take away everything. You take all my money. You take all my weed. NW: Green eyes, 'cause I'm a fool. I try staying away. I'm just not man enough. But I don't give a shit. Sky high. Will I fly high? Maybe. Soar high, soar right through it. BC: I can't do anything without you. Can't do anything with you. You drive me crazy but I love you.

NW: I'll go surfing in my mind.

BC: You're so good to me when you are away.

NW: Shining in the sun like a convertible balloon.

BC: But when you get home, you don't have much to say.

NW: I'm so bored. Yeah, I'm so bored.

BC: I wish you would tell me how you really feel.

NW: I hate myself, man. I guess I'm just fucked up.

BC: It doesn't matter to me either way. All I want is for you to stay.

BC: I promise I won't be such a brat.

NW: I'm an idiot. I'd say I'm sorry, but it wouldn't mean shit.

BC: Yeah, there's blood on the wall but I'm happy.

NW: If it's our way to take on the world, it would be something.

BC: The world is lazy, but you and me, we're just crazy.
