Over thirty years ago, long before Mick Jones joined the Clash and Tony James teamed up with Billy Idol in Generation X, the pair played together in the short-lived punk band London SS. Five years ago, the two reunited for a new project called Carbon/Silicon. Inspired by their shared love of making music and the ability to record a song and throw it up on the Internet the same day, they recorded and gave away three albums and a few EPs’ worth of material. This past fall, the act, which now also includes former B.A.D. bassist Leo “Eazykill” Williams and drummer Dominic Greensmith, issued its first official release, The Last Post, which is being distributed through Caroline Records. Stop by Backbeat Online to read what James has to say about the new album and about working with Jones.
